We Love Freezer Fudge!
Have you discovered the magic of freezer fudge? This low-maintenance, high-protein treat is a game-changer—requiring just a handful of ingredients, one bowl, and less than 15 minutes to prepare. Among the many variations, our all-time favorite is Salted Tahini Chocolate Chunk. These low-carb, nutrient-packed bites are perfect to keep stocked in your freezer for a quick and satisfying snack.
Making it is a breeze: simply mix tahini, coconut oil, and maple syrup, fold in chocolate chunks, pour the mixture into a baking dish, sprinkle with flakey sea salt, freeze solid, and voilà! It’s that easy.
Why Tahini?
The secret to this freezer fudge lies in tahini, a creamy, slightly savory seed butter made from ground sesame seeds. Not only does tahini add a unique flavor profile to desserts, but it also boasts impressive nutritional benefits.
Just one tablespoon of tahini provides:
- Protein: Close to 3 grams to keep you fueled.
- Fiber: 1.5 grams for digestive health.
- Calcium: 65 mg for strong bones.
- Iron: 1.5 mg to support energy and oxygen transport.
Unlike nut butters, tahini is made from seeds, making it an excellent option for those with nut allergies or anyone looking to balance a nut-heavy diet.
We recommend Artisana’s Raw Tahini Butter, crafted with unroasted sesame seeds and no added oils, sugars, or salts. The pure, clean taste of raw tahini lets the sesame flavor shine while preserving the nutrient density of these magic seeds. Sesame seeds are rich in antioxidants, which protect your cells from free-radical damage, and anti-inflammatory compounds like sesamin and sesamolin, which promote heart health. They’re also fantastic for your skin—thanks to zinc and healthy fats that support collagen production and enhance the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins like A and E, which help combat signs of aging.
Ready to Treat Yourself?
