At Tuesday Foods, sustainability isn’t a buzzword—it’s baked into everything we do. From the meals we prepare to the way we deliver them, every step of our process is designed to reduce waste, minimize our footprint, and support the health of our clients and the planet.
Here’s a look at how we’re making an impact—together with you.
Leading With Plants
We’ve always believed that food is one of the most powerful tools we have for change. Eating a plant-forward diet is the single most impactful way to reduce your environmental footprint. It lowers greenhouse gas emissions, reduces freshwater use, and helps preserve natural ecosystems.
Not eating meat and dairy can reduce your dietary carbon footprint by up to 75%. Since 2019, we’ve helped thousands of customers do just that—by delivering nutrient-dense, plant-based meals that nourish both body and planet.
Reducing Food Waste
We produce far less food waste than the average home kitchen. Thanks to our streamlined production model and batch cooking approach, every ingredient is accounted for with intention.
When we do have surplus produce, it never goes to waste:
- Extra ingredients are used to make weekly juices or frozen soups
- Food waste from the kitchen is composted
- Leftover meals are donated to local organizations to and to community members in need
Packaging That Goes Full Circle
Each week, our meals are delivered in glass jars and eco-friendly paper totes—a closed-loop system that keeps single-use packaging out of landfills. Here’s how it works:
- You receive your delivery in reusable containers and totes
- The following week, we pick them up
- Every item is commercially washed, sanitized, and reused
We call it the modern-day milkman, and it’s one of our favorite systems in place.
To supplement our glass jars, we also use 100% compostable Eco-Products containers for select items.
Bye Bye Paper
We use digital communications to the greatest extent possible. Our menus and meal prep instructions are hosted online instead of printed on paper. Everything you need can be accessed directly on our website or via QR code—reducing paper waste and keeping things clean and simple.
Local Composting Partnerships
We’ve partnered with EverGreen Zero Waste, a Roaring Fork Valley-based composting company, to bring even more sustainability into your home. As a bonus, Tuesday Foods customers receive two months of complimentary curbside compost pick-up.
Don’t have curbside service? No problem. Our drivers are happy to collect your compostables with your weekly jar return.
